Prefer the tablets
My wife bought these by accident instead of the caplets. Lactaid, as a product, has helped me in a lot of situations. Like most things, there have been some exceptions – I expect that.

I found that these chewables do not work as good as the caplets, in my case. However, my biggest complaint is that I cannot stand the flavor and consistency. I don’t want an additional flavor added to whatever it is I am about to eat.

I will stick to the pills.

Can’t live without it
I have become lactose intolerant for several years. I always avoid ice cream though I love it.. until I heard about Lactaid from a coworker.

In my wallet I put one of these chewable tablets. Now before I eat ice cream I pop the Lactaid, which gives me 30 minutes to enjoy the ice cream. Nice.

I have a hard time swallowing pills, so chewable tablet is perfect for me. I highly recommend this for anyone.

Enjoy dairy products again!
I’ve used Lactaid for years, and as the years pass, the product keeps getting better and better. I used to have to take more of it for it to work, now I use one tablet just before eating the serving of dairy, and one tablet in the middle of eating the serving of dairy. It works great! One thing to be careful about though, is if you are as slow eater, you’ll have to take more of it. When I eat a bagel with cream cheese for example, which takes more chewing than does ice cream which takes none, I end up using three tablets instead of two to be symptom free (e.g., one at the beginning, then I eat 1/3 bagel/cream cheese, take another, eat another 1/3, then take last pill for last 1/3 of bagel). Another great tip which I discovered…..when I began taking calcium supplements along with the Lactaid, it made my own symptoms disappear completely, so you might give that a try. My doctor says its probably because calcium supplements slow movement of the digestive tract. All in all, Lactaid Fast Act is a great product for lactose intolerant individuals and I highly recommend it.

What’s this? A new “Nightmare Before Christmas” DVD package? Actually there are three versions: this two-disc set that includes a downloadable digital copy, a Blu-ray version, and a collector’s edition that comes with a bust of Jack Skellington with a detachable Sandy Claus beard and hat.

Though this version is billed as a two-disc set, it actually has three discs. The third one contains the digital copy. An instruction sheet spells out in clear steps how to download the file to an iPod or similar device.

The movie itself is a feast for the eyes, ears and imagination. A delectable witches’ brew of stop-motion animation, catchy show tunes and a seriously warped creative license, it always stays true to its timeless message: to be happy, be yourself. Devilishly nonconformist, it’s an enduring holiday musical for the whole Addams family.

Well, almost. Though all of its fright gags are played entirely for laughs, some of the imagery is downright creepy, especially for small children. Anyone older than say, 6, however, should enjoy every minute. Teenagers will love it.

The story — the citizens of Halloweentown attempt to annex neighboring Christmastown — comes from the macabre mind of producer Tim Burton, who wrote it in his spare time (as a poem!) while working as a Disney animator in the 1980s. The movie blends the tastiest bits of Burton’s earlier Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands with a sprinkling of the stop-motion magic first found in Disney’s 1961 Babes in Toyland.

The imaginative cast of characters includes:
* Pumpkin King Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon), a mischievous misfit who believes his purpose in life is to merge the holidays of Halloween and Christmas.
* Jack’s faithful dog Zero, a ghost with a glowing, jack-o’-lantern nose who, like the hound in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, eventually pulls a sleigh
* Rag-doll heroine Sally (voiced by Catherine O’Hara), Jack’s love interest, who sews herself back together when she loses a body part
* Oogie Boogie (Broadway veteran Ken Page), a slimy, singing bag of bugs who channels the cartoon version of Cab Calloway in the old Betty Boop cartoons
* Lock (Paul “Pee-Wee Herman” Reubens), Shock (O’Hara) and Barrel (Danny Elfman, the film’s composer), a trio of evil trick-or-treaters who “kidnap the Sandy Claws”
* Wheelchair-bound evil scientist Dr. Finklestein (William Hickey), a duckbilled quack whose flip-top head lets him scratch his brains for inspiration
* A mayor (Glenn Shadix, the interior director Otho in Beetlejuice) who is literally two-faced.

Blessed with the ability to bring adult minds back to child’s level, Burton dwells in dark mischief. In fact, some of Nightmare’s best scenes include the kidnapping of Santa Claus and Jack’s hilarious attempt to replace him on Christmas Eve, when the skeleton gleefully delivers presents such as tree-devouring snakes and severed, shrunken heads.

Director Henry Selick painstakingly created the film over three years. Though he had a production crew of over 100, each minute of footage took a week, as each second required 24 ever-so-slightly different shots.

A Special Edition that is TRULY Special
If you think the best movies are the ones that show you a world you’ve never envisioned before, then you will LOVE Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. A benchmark in stop-motion animation, this incredibly difficult-to-make film (24 individually posed frames were needed to produce ONE SECONDS’s worth of action) is a masterpiece of art direction, set design, and good old-fashioned storytelling. The plot revolves around Jack, the Pumpkin King of Halloween, and his attempt to run Christmas in place of Santa Claus. “Sleigh” becomes confused with “slay”; “stockings” become “stalkings”; and spirits go from joyous to ghostly as the two holidays clash together like oil and water, or fire and ice. One of the great surprises of the movie is that although it dances around material that could easily careen into cynicism, it remains refreshingly sweet and light throughout. Which is not to say that some of the comedy isn’t a little dark and perhaps geared more towards older children and adults; for example, the brief scene in which a python puppet is shown swallowing a Christmas tree whole is hysterically funny, but not especially appropriate for the very young.

The special edition DVD is unquestionably the version of this classic to buy. Included are a wealth of extras: the teaser and theatrical trailers; a documentary on “The Making of …”; deleted scenes and storyboards, etc, etc. The best bonuses are two short films by Burton: “Vincent”, a poetic tribute to the magnificent Vincent Price, narrated by the subject himself; and “Frankenweenie”, a canine send-up of “Frankenstein”, starring Shelley Duvall, Daniel Stern, and a cast of talented character actors. This DVD is one that you can spend HOURS exploring happily! Highly recommended as both a Halloween and Christmas treat.

Kidnap the Sandy Claws!
This is my favorite animated film and in my opinion the best to come out of the Burton/Elfman team. The plot is… well… “different”: The denizens of Halloween Town kidnap Santa Claus and have their way with Christmas. i.e. make a complete mess out of it. The visuals are spectacular (if a little dark) and the music and songs are wonderful and fit right in with the action. Regarding the “family appeal” of this movie: just keep in mind that this is a Tim Burton creation (Beetlejuice, Sleepy Hollow) and therefore it is dark, a little scary and the humor is on the sarcastic side. Oh, and if you absolutely can’t stand musicals, then this movie will either make you a believer (like it did to me) or will put you off.

About the DVD edition: I’ve seen this movie in the theater, on TV, on VHS and now on DVD and I must say that the DVD edition had the best sound quality. They could have included some bonuses (a “the making of…” type of feature is really missing) but the excellent sound and decent picture quality was good enough for me.

Go ahead and give it a try, especially if you’re a Burton/Elfman fan!

Directed by Henry Selick (who later made the delightful James and the Giant Peach), this PG-rated picture has a reassuringly light touch. This full-length animated movie was shot in stop motion, with all the febrile, twittery fascination that the medium exerts; it has a magic-toy shop feeling, with unexpected objects stuttering into life. Directed by Henry Selick, it was devised and co-produced by Tim Burton, who leaves a trail of his familiar obsessions: graveyard humor, whirling snow, a velvety darkness. But the atmosphere is too rich for the pallid plot: Jack Skellington, the bony master of ceremonies in Halloweentown, discovers the spirit of Christmas and tries to import it into his ghoulish world. The clash of styles-demonic vs. cute-pays off only toward the end; for all the witty, festering details (look out for the cat that howls like a siren when you crank its tail), the film is strangely static. Danny Elfman’s score is lush and shocking but much too good for his lyrics (or for what you can hear of them). Good little gizmo
I owned and used a DLO FM transmitter for the Creative Zen Vision:M until it fell apart (and the Zen Vision:M itself was replaced by a Zen 32GB), so I needed a new one. Not having an iPod narrowed down the choices considerably, and eventually, after doing a lot of research, I decided to risk the Aerielle i2i.

My reasons:
1. It works with any MP3 player because it functions via the headphone jack;
2. It can charge any MP3 player — or any other electronic device, for that matter — that charges on USB, and play music at the same time;
3. You can input any FM frequency between 88.1 and 107.9, especially useful when you’re looking for an unused FM frequency in a big town;
4. It includes the 3.5 mm audio cable that will allow it to reproduce the player’s sound. It also includes the USB cable, but most of us have dozens of those lying around.

Setting this FM transmitter up is straightforward and logical. Its compact body contains the LCD display that shows the FM frequency, the tune up and tune down buttons, three station present buttons and the power / cigarette lighter plug. The body is connected to a small extension by a short cable. This extension contains the 3.5 mm audio jack (for sound) and the USB connector (for charging). Although this layout seems awkward at first, it makes sense because you never have to remove the transmitter from the power socket to plug or unplug devices from the 3.5 mm or USB connectors — everything is close by and easily reachable.

The Aerielle i2i seems to be solidly and well built, and its texturized finish is non-slip. It does exactly what it is supposed to do: transmit the MP3 player’s sound to the car’s sound system. The sound quality depends on finding a free FM band, not so easy in the congested big towns but not a problem the farther away you get from them. My first run with it was in a metropolis, so all I got was acceptable sound quality — on par with my dismembered DLO. I’ll complement this review once I try the Aerielle out on the empty road, but so far it is doing well.

Best value for the price
I bought two different FM converters from other vendors and returned them. This unit provides the best quality and flexibility to use with iPhone/iPod and a built in USB charger. Great thinking in design. Kudos to the product disigners.

Best FM Transmitter for MP3 Players
I have tried many FM transmitters for my Zune and this one seems to be the best available. It provides static-free reception much better than Monster, Griffin, Belkin, or the other devices on the consumer market. As another review stated, you must select a frequency where a station is not broadcasting. Otherwise, you will receive interference and bleed-over from adjacent stations. There is not a consumer-grade FM transmitter that is strong enough to block local stations due to regulations from the FCC and other countries.

The planner is very informative with some great ideas and points I didn’t think of for the wedding. It comes with a tote bag to carry it around as the book is too big and heavy to carry everywhere. Great planner!
I bought this book at borders, and should have bought here at amazon. When I saw it I knew it was the book I was looking for. I was shopping around trying to find the right book to help me, and this one was it. The book is large with lots of extra space to add pages. The book is very informative and really helps me get organized. The timeline was really helpful to get things in perspective for me. Before I bought it, I started freaking out because I thought I had to get everything done right now! The best foundation I have EVER tried.
Missha’s Perfect Cover BB cream is by far the best foundation I have ever tried. I am extremely pale & prone to breakouts, but this BB cream matches my skintone and actually helps prevent acne. It is a lighter coverage, although I suppose you could use more, so it isn’t a heavy foundation that would hide large or cystic acne very well, but for my skin, it is now number one. I have tried drug store makeup (never again!), Aveda, Origins, Clinique, and MAC, but Missha just blows them out of the water in all areas. I would def recommend Missha to anyone with mild to moderate acne and pale skin. It is too sheer to cover larger blemishes, so for photographs or fancy-dress parties, I will probably use my MAC foundation, but for everyday use, you can’t beat it. Good coverage, light feeling, blemish cream, and SPF–don’t pass this up!

Very pleased!
When I first heard about BB creams, I decided I really wanted to give one a try, and I researched a bit to find a good product. I read many good reviews on MISSHA’s Perfect Cover BB Cream, so I decided to purchase it. I was a little bit worried about how well this would blend with my skin tone, because if anything, most of the complaints I read about the cream were that people were having difficulty matching the cream well with their skin tone. I have very fair skin, so I decided to go with No. 21, Bright Beige, the lighter of the two choices. When I first used the cream, I was so relieved to see that the cream was just perfect for my skin tone. I personally don’t find the scent of the cream strong or offensive, at all. The scent doesn’t stick around long, either, so if you do find that your nose doesn’t appreciate the scent, it will dissipate shortly after use. I have been using this cream as a part of my normal makeup routine ever since I received it. Aside from the good blending, the product offers good coverage (not too thick, where I feel like I’ve got layers and layers of makeup on, but not too light that it barely covers any blemishes), moisturizes my skin, and really brightens up my face. I have normal skin, so moisturizing was not a huge issue for me to begin with, but my skin always feels really nice once I put this cream on. The SPF factor of the cream is very convenient, as well. After about two months of usage, I can also definitely see an improvement in my skin. It isn’t a miracle cure for all the issues I have with my facial skin, but it definitely has reduced the appearance of acne scars and other pesky blemishes. I’m definitely sticking to this BB cream!

does not work for me
I bought this product about 3 weeks ago and I was really excited because it has worked for a lot of people, but sadly after 3 weeks of usage I think its not for me. My skin is fair and combination. When I put it on, I notice that it has a thick consistency to it which makes it a little hard to spread evenly. Right after, I immediately notice that my face is brighter with even skin tone which is great! It s a little lighter than my skin tone but not very noticable. After 8 hours of work, I notice that my face was a little bit more oily than usual (easily fixed by blotting paper) and somehow my face has darken and became dull. I thought that maybe its a reaction with my moisturizer, I switch to another moisturizer and the same thing happened. I thought it was just me, but my friend also thought my face got darker and dull. When I wash my face, my color’s back to normal. Another thing I notice is that the area around my nose seemed to have little white bumps which I never got from my mineral foundation. Oh well, it might work better for some people but I’m not going to give up on BB creams altogether, since I really like the benefits of using it. I’m just going to try different brand and hopefully find something that will work better for me.
